Facebook

So I thought it was just for high schoolers, but Mateo convinced me to check out www.facebook.com. Turns out everybody's got a page and.....it's pretty amusing, too. It's wonderful for wasting time at work.

Shuttle to Brunch

Last Sunday we met up with some of the usual suspects at the Marriott on the Chao Phraya river for an all-afternoon brunch. We skytrained it down to the last stop at Saphan Taksin, then took a little river shuttle that dropped us off right at the hotel. Took about half an hour longer than just getting a cab, but much more stylish....

Happy 4th

Wednesday was a day off for me in Bangkok for Independence Day, but Dung had a normal day of work. Since I had nothing else going on we decided pretty much at the last minute to have a barbecue and called around getting people together. Funny thing about being overseas where your US holidays can pass by without being noticed, everyone's pretty desperate to have a normal holiday and is ready for anything. We quickly had a good crowd and had the usual barbecue fare of hamburgers, hot dogs and ribs, plus some Korean barbecue we tried out for fun. Potato salad, veggies, corn on the cob and blueberry pie with vanilla ice cream rounded it out. Big hit? The hot dogs, Johnsonville brats and Hebrew National dogs. Highly recommended.
